First, according to literature in the ancient Balinese papyrus contained the teachings of the values ​​of local wisdom which is a strong belief in the Balinese people, that disease outbreaks are part of the natural cycle, which can come repeatedly in decades, centuries, and even millennia (thousands of years).
It was written, there were three types of disease outbreaks, namely the plague that struck humans called Gering, the plague that struck animals or animals called Grubug, and the plague that afflicted plants called Sasab Merana.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 outbreak is a type of Gering, whose coverage is worldwide and the infection rate is high so it is called the Great Gering (Pandemic COVID-19).
Kedua, Munculnya wabah penyakit merupakan pertanda adanya ketidak-harmonisan / ketidakseimbangan alam beserta isinya pada tingkatan yang tinggi akibat ulah manusia yang tidak melaksanakan tata kehidupan berdasarkan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal.
Ketiga, Masyarakat Bali memiliki cara sesuai dengan kearifan lokal dalam menyikapi munculnya wabah penyakit yaitu dengan mengembalikan keseimbangan alam secara niskala, antara lain melaksanakan Upacara Bhuta Yadnya (Kurban Suci) dan Dewa Yadnya (Persembahan Suci kepada Hyang Widhi Wasa) dengan tingkatan yang mengikuti skala wabah. Upacara Bhuta Yadnya dan Dewa Yadnya merupakan upaya pengembalian keseimbangan alam (nyomya), memerlukan proses dan tahapan yang dilakukan pada hari-hari baik tertentu (subha dewasa).
Fourth, the aim is to return the plague to its position and function as created by the Almighty, because every creature of His creation has its own position and function (Habitat) so that the balance of nature and its contents will return to normal.
Fifth, therefore, the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak should not be confronted with an attitude and diction against but must respect by returning to their respective positions and functions (Habitat). Because with the diction to fight, the COVID-19 outbreak will be increasingly difficult to control, and more violent.
Sixth, That is why the handling of COVID-19 in Bali is carried out with a noetic and sacred effort. Thus an explanation is given to be understood together.
